Assorted Books
These books include photographs and short poems that record and explore my physical experiences in nature and the emotions that arise from them. I think of them as thematic visual poems. They include individually printed photographs on selected papers that heighten the effect of the imagery. The books are handmade stab bound editions or hand made box sets. All are available in limited editions signed by the artist.

Incidental Silence
During the rainy season, in mid January, I spent two days walking the trails of the coastal hills in San Mateo County. The weather was wet and foggy. Amidst the silence, the trees and rocks were dressed in a gown of mystery as I wandered amongst them. In the deep stillness of the fog, I found myself in a quiet intimacy with all that surrounded me.
This is a handmade stab bound volume in a limited edition of 10 books signed by the artist. Each page is individually printed by the artist on Japanese kozo paper and mounted on Japanese sheets of embossed Kitakata paper.
Silent Soliloquies
The title of this collection, “Silent Soliloquies”, refers to the way nature’s silence speaks directly to our senses. Surrounded by this stillness, our mind comes alive resting in its home. This book is a collection of images from various places where stillness and silence welcome the mind, heart, and body.

Año Nuevo
Twenty miles north of Santa Cruz, along the California coast, is Año Nuevo State Park. The beaches and headlands here are always changing. Sometimes bathed in fog or sunshine, other times washed by storms coming off the ocean, one can hear the barking of sea lions and the sound of surf.
This is a handmade box set of black and white photographs printed and signed by the artist. Each print is mounted on Japanese kozo paper and mounted on Japanese sheets of embossed Kitakata paper. Each mounted print is in a cover sheet of Japanese asuka paper. The set includes 11 prints.
